PROBLEM CONSIDERED:

• This case concerns the pure convection of a step profile of a scalar by a uniform flow field inclined at 45 degrees.

• This case is a widely-used test problem for assessing the accuracy of various numerical methods, as it involves convective dominance, significant streamline-grid skewness and steep gradients of transported variables.
